Beverly Hillbillies TV Show Theme

Come and listen to a story about a man named Jed
A poor mountaineer, barely kept his family fed,
Then one day he was shootin at some food,
And up through the ground came a bubblin' crude.

Oil that is, black gold, Texas tea.

Well the first thing you know ol' Jed's a millionaire,
Kinfolk said Jed move away from there
Said Californy is the place you ought to be
So they loaded up the truck and moved to Beverly.

Hills, that is.
Swimmin pools, movie stars.

The Beverly Hillbillies!

Sung at the end of the show:.

Well now its time to say good-bye to Jed and all his kin.
And they would like to thank you folks fer kindly droppin in.
You're all invited back again to this locality
To have a heapin helpin of their hospitality.

Hillbilly that is. Set a spell. Take your shoes off. Y'all come back now, y'hear?

One of the sponsors of the Beverly Hillbillies was Kelloggs and this version has "Kelloggs" at the end

Come along and visit with the Clampitt family,
As they learn the simple pleasures of the hills of Beverly.
That includes the sponsers,
sponsers of each week.
Brought to you from Kelloggs,
Kelloggs of Battle Creek!
With a K-E-L-L-Oh-double good
Kelloggs best for you!

Here's a parody to the original theme song that mentions the general feelings of the Beverly Hills community in the movie

Ol' Jed bought a mansion. Lawdy it was swank
Next door neighbor was president of the bank,
Lotsa folks objected, but the banker found no fault,
'Cause ol' Jed's millions was a-layin' in the vault
Cash, that is! Capital gains, Depletion money!

Here's another parody that uses the government, oil and the middle east

A poor politician trying to keep from bein' bored
Then one day peak oil was in the news.
Where we gonna find that bubblin' crude?

Oil that is, black gold, texas tea.

Well the first thing you know George called his
millionares,
They all said George, we're getting kinda scared.
Said Haliburton are the folks you ought to see.
So they loaded up the troops and bombed the
Middle East.
