Lyrics

Bazooka Bubblegum

My mom gave me a penny,
She said to buy a henny,
But I didn't buy a penny,
Instead I bought bubblegum,
Bazooka-zooka,
Bubblegum,
Bazooka-zooka,
Bubblegum.

My mom gave me a nickel,
She said to buy a pickle,
But I didn't buy a pickle,
Instead I bought bubblegum,
Bazooka-zooka,
Bubblegum,
Bazooka-zooka,
Bubblegum.

My mom gave me a dime,
She said to buy a lime,
But I didn't buy a lime,
Instead I bought bubblegum,
Bazooka-zooka,
Bubblegum,
Bazooka-zooka,
Bubblegum.

My mom gave me a quarter,
She said to buy a porter,
But I didn't buy a porter,
Instead I bought bubblegum,
Bazooka-zooka,
Bubblegum,
Bazooka-zooka,
Bubblegum.

My mom gave me a dollar,
She said to buy a collar,
But I didn't buy a collar,
Instead I bought bubblegum,
Bazooka-zooka,
Bubblegum,
Bazooka-zooka,
Bubblegum.

My mom gave me a five,
She said to stay alive,
But I didn't stay alive,
Instead I choked on,
Bubblegum,
Bazooka-zooka,
Bubblegum,
Bazooka-zooka,
Bubblegum.

Information About Bazooka Bubblegum

The popular Bazooka Bubblegum song came out in 2006. It was sung by the hip-hop and RB band "Tha Heights. ' This infectious ballad soared to national popularity, and quickly put the Bazooka Bubblegum brand back on the map.

The song was also the inspiration of a dance with the same name. From Coast to Coast, kids were raising their hands in the air and dancing to this energetic, fun, and catchy tune. According to "Tha Heights", they wanted to create a ballad that would unite old and new Bazooka Bubblegum lovers across the nation.

While the rhythm of the song comprises a hip-hop and RB beat, the inspiration for the song came from high school and college step teams. These performers would dazzle audiences with amazing moves set to synchronized beats and sounds.

As one of the most popular bubble gum brands in America, Bazooka dates back to the end of World War II. The gum was manufactured by the Topps Company of Brooklyn, which added small comic books to the brand in 1953. This spawned the popular "Bazooka Joe" character, which is still in existence today.

The character of "Bazooka" Joe was to be featured in a Hollywood movie back in 2009. While the project did not go through, it did give more exposure to both the song and the brand.
